Title: US Patients Going Straight To Emergency Department, Bypassing Personal Physicians

Notes:

  • people's chang behaviors make emergency departments so crowded
  • in the USA an enormous number visits for acute care to emergency department
  • more and more Americans not go to see and call their GP
  • more acute care requirement of hospital is not good news for understaffed and busy energency rooms about emergency department
  • acute care need the challenge for reform

Summary:

In the USA, now more and more people go to emergency departments for acute care instead to see their GP. A study found more than a quarter of all acute care visits in USA now made to emergency departments. But in USA emergency department, only have fewer than 5% of doctors are emergency physicians, over 50% of acute care visits by emergency physicians in America. So the excessive requirement is never a good news to emergency physicians. In the USA the challenge for reform will be to succeed in the complex acute care landscape the already exists.
